Here is some basic information on Chakras.

It is possible to write page after page on chakras, but as there is already so much information on them via books and the internet, here you will find something just to get you started! I would suggest that you get to know them...

Chakra means 'wheel' in Sanskrit. They are spiritual energy centres in the human body. In China, chakra is said to be the paths or centres of energy. There are seven major chakras in the body, and these are all associated with endocrine glands.

Chakras are our consciousness, our connection to our spirit, our god-self. These wheels or energy centres are responsible for every single thing about us;

  • our character
  • creative talents
  • courage and strength
  • personal power
  • communications skills
  • love and self love
  • thoughts
  • colours we wear
  • food we eat
  • likes and dislikes
  • physical body

Our chakras, as seen in the picture, start from the base of the spine and work their way up to the top of the head. They are connected to organs and systems within the body.

When a chakra is unbalanced, corresponding body parts and or emotions may be affected...

For example:

Let’s say there are some deep rooted emotional issues; issues that relate to how you feel about yourself and others, how you express love. These will be connected to the heart chakra and possibly the sacral chakra. If these issues are not brought to the surface and dealt with, the heart and sacral chakras become unbalanced; causing emotional and health related issues. Health related issues connected to the heart chakra could be heart problems, blood and circulation, the endocrine and immune system.

Unbalanced chakras can be balanced through dealing with the issues first hand, positive thinking and or with energy healing, sound healing, colour therapy and diet.
